•avoidance in place of presence.
•self protection in exchange for vulnerability.
•exploitation & envy instead of celebration.
•pride over repair.
•control rather than freedom.
•fear rather than trust.
•harshness over kindness.
•record-keeping over forgiveness.
•secret-keeping in place of openness
•blindness & silence in exchange for the truth.
